When Mughal emperor Akbar expressed his desire to marry a Pashtun princess
According to the author of Afsana-i-Shahan, Mughal emperor Akbar once expressed his desire to marry the daughter of Sultan Islam Shah Sur, in order to win over the Afghans, the former ruling class of Hindustan. But the Afghans opposed the King's overture and the latter therefore could not succeed.
